I got out Saturday mid day and did some rigging on the northend with the other 100 boats with nothing happeneing for us. We tried a few other spots on the eastside with only a few fish showing up on the graph and no bites. We went in and re grouped for some evening bobberfishing and got out on the water in the rock piles with the kids and got into the bite pretty good right at sundown. We fished the 10-15 range with Brother Glens boat doing most of the catching, specifically Lauren getting 8 fish with 4 nice keepers. Sunday night we did the same thing and got another 5 fish for the box. We only had 1 fish over that measured 23" on Sunday night. A few others came in from boats around us but most of the fish caught where in the 14 - 17 range. Water temp was 7 - 8 degrees warmer than last weekend at 58. The fishing was real good considering the flat water conditions we had in the evenings. The weather was perfect other than I would have liked a 4-8 or so wind. I did get a few pictures, but I didn't have the settings set up for the light conditions so I need a few lessons on that. Sorry Randy, you got a little blurry. Jigs and plain hooks caught the fishing under the bobbers. My niece Emily caught her first walleyes this weekend. Good Job Emily.
Great report Doug! If you wanted wind, you should have been out there yesterday. It got pretty rough out there. We had similar luck picking up a fish here and there. It was nice to see my first bobber of the open water season go down as well. Suprisingly out of the 20 or so fish we caught, the biggest was only 20". Its been awhile since thats happened to me on Mille Lacs, buts its good to see also.

We were up early Friday and had to leave Saturday afternoon. Fishing during the day was really slow. Catching non-existent. But Friday night on shallow rocks produced some action from 8 - 9:30 pm. Two of us had 5 fish. Not great, but better than nothing.
Fished during the day on the 15 to 18 foot contours trolling of a rock reef. Caught fish above the slot size. Night time bobber fishing on that same reef in about 8 feet of water. Had good luck. Catching mostly slot fish. Moved the bouy back to its original position. The strong winds from the week prior had enough power to break one navy anchor and bend another.
