Jon- the payout carried over for teams that registered for both days. Had a Sunday only team won the payout would have been different. The winning teams got 2 checks one for Saturdays and one for Sundays. The MTT did a GREAT job under difficult circumstances. I know Mike was really struggling with the situation Saturday but made the right call.
Peerch- The bite was a tough one. Friday the fish really went for the prefishing and was pretty much non existant for most Sunday. Bob and I boated 4 walleyes all day one just under 18 and a 13.5 for the box and one just over 18 and just under 13. We needed one more to cash a check but it wasn't to be. Couple days of stable weather and if the water warms just a bit more. We had 49 degree water most places.

You're right Doug. It was a difficult decision for all involved, but it was the right one...no doubt. Those winds were very strong all day on Saturday, and something bad could have happened. I respect Mike's decision 100% and he did the best he could with the circumstances put forth on him. Hopefully Perrrrrch and I get to be in another MTT tournament soon.
I did not stick around to look at my "egg" on the board, but I take it only 4 boats out of 100 weighed a 6 fish bag? It was very frustrating out there Sunday. Mille Lacs is definately a love hate relationship!
Good job Brian and Craig, you guys work hard at it.
Actually I think it was a pretty easy decision. With 4+ footers pushing into the harbor there would have been a lot of insurance claims and millions of dollars worth of fiberglass and Aluminum stacked up on the rocks on Hunters point.Had they went for it I would have went and had breakfast with the smart people.
The fish were biting for a while in the morning when the wind was blowing but they were scattered and it was one here and one there. We caught a couple in the 25-26 inch range and a 17 7/8 fish and lost another keeper by the boat.
Congrats to the guys that caught a limit in very tough conditions. They are always biting somewhere.
Should be a different story in 2 weeks.Should be a lot more limits and some big fish caught at the next one.
