The "Citizens Input Group" meets with the DNR every Febuary to discuss the assesment results and discuss, recommend, any changes to the regulations we would like see made by the DNR for the upcoming season.
On an almost unanamouis vote last year we asked and it was recommended that the current slot regulations be made with the desire that these would be a long term set of regulations. Nobody wants to have regulations changing every year around mid-season. These regs seem to be the most workable set we could adopt for a long term basis.
From time to time we will have additional meetings to discuss sudden needed changes, as was the case a couple years ago when we had to tighten the slot unexpectedly in July.
