WE'VE MADE IT OUT TO THE FLATS!!!!! We staked a road out to the Boot. The ice was pretty consistant all of the way there. The thinnest they came across was 6 inches. With the cold weather we are having up here we're making alot of good ice.
I am heading up to the pond tomorrow morning for my first even attempt on the ML hardwater. I will be pulling a portable with a snowmobile. I was suggested to go out of Nittis if possible. Will I be ok heading out on your road with a snowmobile? If so, should I try to stay by the marked roads or would it be ok to wonder off of them? I do have GPS.
I would strongly recomend staying on our staked out roads. If you do venture off of them be sure to check the ice frequently prior to driving a sled over it, because we still are finding thin ice in spots. But swing into the resort on when you get here and wed'll fill you in on the latest info.
I'm a bit unfamiliar with Nitti's, however, am a long-time patron of Red-Eye/Big-Point-Fishermans Wharf and the former Liberty Beach. I was curious if you guys will be plowing out to 3 mile? Thanks for the great ice updates! I look forward to utilizing your services this year.
