Hi everyone just had a few questions, and looking for some honest feedback. Im not new to ice fishing by any means. I LOVE IT but I would be a newbi to fishing on that side of the lake, im looking at buying a fish house up there and I was wondering How is the fishing? (I know its allways changing) How is this resort better/worse then all the others, how is it in the summer/how much is rent? alot of houses? I also have kids will they have anything to do? So all I wanna know is it something my family and I will enjoy and not be disapointed? Any and all feedback would be much appreciated. thank you
Hunter's Point is a great resort. They have a little bit of everything to keep anyone entertained. In the winter, they keep the roads in good condition and they are well marked and mapped. Last year with the tough bite I only made it up a few times, but the staff showed me some places to start and I caught fish. Many area guides work out of the resort as well, so there is always good information floating around. The food is great too! In the summer they always have activities going on and they have a nice sandy beach. I'm sure you will get a lot more input on this.

Thanks for the reply and the info. you would think that all the people and the knowledge on this site that more people would have something to say about this post. So come on guys/gals lets hear about it. Good or bad.
great place my father and i have over 10 great years at hunters point. people are great. keeps the resort grounds nice and clean year round. we have stayed at other resorts over the years . we are staying were we are . like it a lot.
I have been calling Hunters Point my 2nd home for many years. I actually have a place across the highway, but that is where I pulled out of since 1992. It was a good place to hang before George and Linda bought it, and after they bought it, it has just gotten better !!! They really know how to run a resort and they have staff that know the lake, how to cook and how to pour a cold one. Everyone is always friendly and the amenities are first class. I would go so far to say, they are the most complete resort on the Eastside. They have everything you need for your summer and winter fun Come on over and stay awhile
My suggestion would be too take a half of day and drive around and visit the other resorts. Check out there fish storage, cabins, Lodge, fishing cleaning....etc. I think hands down Hunters Point will be at the top of your list.....Hunters just has the complete package as stated above in the other replys
I know the gude customers that I bring to Hunters have always had positive comments.
You can take that half a day and drive around. My wife and I did that exact same thing when we decided to go to the big pond. Hunters won over my wife even before it did me.
IMO, it is a top resort on the lake. And George and the crew keep the roads safe and in great condition all winter long. You wouldn't be dissapointed if you chose Hunters.
p.s. I also have a house for sale, and it is already there!
I'd go check it out yourself. Maybe rent a shack out of Hunter's this winter and you will get either a good feeling or a bad feeling. Hunter's is a well run operation which you will find out. I believe that there are other good resorts on the east side too. The east side of the lake is where it's at.
Thanks for the replys, I dont have alot of time this time of year to go up there and drive around and compare resorts, thats why I figured I would go right to the source and ask you fine people for your honest opinions of hunters. I have heard that it is a wonderfull place, Thats why I have asked some questions about certain things,How is the fishing? How is the summer months in the shacks,(camping)how much is rent? Alot of houses? I also have kids will they have anything to do? The web page dosn't cover these things. thank you
Hunters is great. Partner and I, (fish house partner not life partner), started out 8years ago on the west side of Mille Lacs. Did one winter there and moved to Hunters for the last 7 years. They have pretty much what ever you need, short of a convience store. Fuel on the dock, beer, bait. They are concerned about safety. Ice roads are constantly reviewed; plowed, bridged, detoured whatever it takes. Very easy to find shore access at night with large yellow light and again great roads. Speed limit on ice under 20 mph or you get your ass chewed if they see it. Ice fishing contest are a blast whether you fish or not. George and Linda are genuinely nice people. Cassie is OK also:) It is a business but they know how to have a good time. Nice showers. Nice restraunt. Nice access/harbor. They have a playground set up. Kids with an imagination and willingness to play outside would do just fine. As far I am concerned the people who stay at the resort are fun to be around. Joanie is a great cook, April is fun bartender, and Jason B. is a good apple.
25+ years in the area.IMO you will be a lucky customer to get a summer spot @ Hunters. East side resorts are vanishing fast. Get in whiule the gettins good!!

PS to announce your arrival at the bar, ring the bell.....
The resort is a great place. People do a good job of everything from gas to grub. Fishing.... well fishing is good/great some days, and not so good other days.... thats why they call it fishing & not catching. You can always get on a launch if you don't want to put the boat in. The winter package is, I believe $700.00 Any kid that likes to swim, fish & just be outside should have fun.
p.s. I have a house for sale as well, just in case your looking for a place at Hunters. (crown913@yahoo)
I gave up my summer seasonal spot last year in the RV park. It was strange leaving after 15 years there. I saw a lot of change and improvements when Nitti's took over. I really look forward to spending time there a few times a year now. George likes to entertain and feed people. He's the first to tell you "life should be a party." There was not a "waiting list" for my spot, but is was gone in a flash! I dont know about summer fishhouse storage.
