A couple yrs ago, I had a 30 " plus up to the boat biggest and heaviest I've ever had, But right then the hook came out of the mouth and the leader was too long so I couldn't reach it with the net and i just watched em swim away. I'm sure the people on shore could hear me swearing. then a fews yrs back I had a 29.5 " when the slot was 30" had to let her go.
My biggest is 29 3/4 on Mille Lacs have caught several over 29 inches the last couple years with a bunch over 28 inches. I have attached the biggest. Waiting for that one over 30 inches. I have one 31.5 incher I caught on Lake Sakawea when I was growing up in North Dakota.
Yep, it is a Yar Craft 2095 BT with a 150 Yamaha tiller. I love that power steering. Great boats! I used to be a Warrior guy but have loved this boat. Can really handle the rough water and is probably one of the dryest boats I have ever seen.
The prime time for these big mamas is at hand and should be a great year. Over Memorial weekend we boated quite a few fish in the 24 to 28 inch size with none over 28 "Yet". We also caught a lot of fish for the box. Those weather fronts last weekend were interesting though with them moving in and fishing shutting off for a few hours each time. Caught the majority of the fish corking from 8 to 10 ft on south end rock humps. Some as small as two boats with 15 ft all around. This weekend should see fish moving to the close to shore deep breaks. The lindy bite is right around the corner.
Good luck to all and sounds like some nice fish have been caught by all.
28.5" Biggest fish in the boat in 2 years. I finally dropped the first spinner blade rig of the season down, and 5 minutes later my Dad snatched the rod out of the rod holder and the fight was on. My Mom got her personal best at 27 inches also today. The mud is on and its going to be a fun summer.
