Lake looks to be filling up.

I have been using a very sophisticated high tech system to monitor the water level. One week ago I counted 12 concrete ramp planks dry. I count only 9 dry tonight.

Doug... your intelligent thoughts are "on the edge" of scaring people!  Keep up the good work. By the way... when is your next chess championship? When does your Mensa club meet again? If a rooster lays an egg on top of a house, which way would it roll???..... (Ah Ha! Got Ya! Roosters don't go on houses!!!!!!!)

(Come to think of it.... not many have been known to lay an egg either.)

It was difficult to count with all the snow falling.... I counted 8 today? Dougy is always right. *If it's 9 still, then I miscounted because of my beer consumption today ..... I mean because I'm on medication!!!!

Great link to the DNR site that monitors the lake level in Cove Bay/Mille Lacs Lake.
>Water Level

This graph shows the water level over the last month!! It shows a nice increase over this period of time.

Last spring 2007
May 2007 at 10.381
June 2007 at 10.397
July 2007 at 10.096

May 2006 at 11.387..........sure would like to see this!
June 2006 at 11.272
July 2006 at 10.933

That shows we are only a foot lower than the spring of 2006!!!!

So we are slightly higher than last year at this time. Should come up a bit more the next few days with the expected rain and runoff that continues.
Last year in May was 10.31
We are at 10.4 something now.

So if we continue to experience the snow storms and rain showers into the month of May!!! we should be ok!! Now we need to get some rain in June and July and August to maintain the lake during that time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like the webcam picture shrunk... must be all the rain.... I think I count 7 1/2 concrete slabs now, the lake is like glass, so I beilieve it has come up quite a bit again.

So how much did the lake come up? Does anybody know what the water temp is? Is the ice off all the shore line yet, if not when will it be? Hope by opener at least.
