Where do you Fish out of on the Opener?

The days are ticking by to the opener. Where do you fish out of? I fish primarily the eastside, dipping the boat in at picard point. Fishing the rocks out front and runs to the north sand. Might catch me at the formica flats at Hunters resort when I get dehydrated and need some good pizza.

Howdy Big D, Doug, my friend,

Hello Glen!

Cheers to the Ertl clan!

Hello to Bobber working so hard at Red Door!

Keep an eye on Fishnpole !

Malmo Mike will be fishing in the Fisher Rock pile area in our bay or also on the gravel structures in Agate Bay which is in my knowledge zone as a Malmo resident owner. If I cannot figure them out there, I will head up to Red Door water's and north bars and watch for Bobber!

I will certainly visit Hunter's Point several times for Formica Flat action and to say hello to friends. I keep my boat on the Opener at Castaway's Marina as Steve is my neighbor.

For after fishing, a great dinner is available up at the Pine Inn after I catch a bunch of Jumbo Perch! I will be taking Malmo Mom here for dinner.

That is my story and I am sticking to it. The Malmo folks and Eddie Lyback know that OI am coming into town.

MM Malmo Mike

We will be fishing the sand first thing Saturday morning, then on the rocks in front of Wilderness. However, with the early ice out, I might try a little deeper. Malmo Mike, remember our secret spot? That could well be hot!

See you on the lake

We went out Saturday for 2 hours and caught 4 fish in the Lakeside reef area. We saw 2 other boats. pretty bumpy and cold. But we fished the 2016 opener on Mille Lacs.

Went out of the North Side by Red Door and fished for 4 hours. Caught 4 missed several (little rusty). 3 of the 4 were over 20" and one 15". Considering wind and cold wasn't too bad. Jig and minnow and rigging with minnow seemed to give us best results.

We had a pretty succesful weekend other than the brutal conditions. Had 65-75 fish with majority in the 18-24 range. "The ones that are not in there". Water temp ranged fron 48.5 - 50.5. I will be back.

Howdy Fife!

Also... Howdy to Bobber and the Ertl Clan!

Hope you guys & girls got some lines wet and some good fishing time!

I never got my boat in the lake due to a very unexpected and terrible family event. My Mother (Malmo Mom) was in a one vehicle accident on Wed. 5-11-16 on northbound Hwy 47 south of Smokey Hill (Old VFW club) She had facial fractures and injured her back from going off the road sadly. She was medivac'd to North Memorial Trauma center -- so we spent 5 days getting her medical care top priority as well as getting her vehicle home and some initial repairs done.

She is doing much better now but there were no walleyes or jumbos swimming by the hospital! DARN.

Malmo Mike will be back to Mille Lacs ASAP to surround some fish this summer.

I did get up to Bay Lake Marine so there is positive in all of this somewhere!

I had fabulous walleye fingers at the Pine Inn in Glen before we went to the Hospital to see Malmo Mom.

Malmo MIke MM will return and Mom is doing much better. Those will fingers were darn good!

Hope you guys got some legal fish on an alternant or smaller lake. Bay

WTG Big D. See my note about my Mother's  accident; SO wee did not get to fish and the conditions were tough. Good Walleye Fingers at Pine Inn. Malmo Mike says so.

Great fishing report dude! MM

See you as soon as I am back!

Howdy Doug, Big D,

Howdy Glen,

Great fishing report there by you guys!

The walleye fingers at Pine Inn in Glen were fabulous.

We even took some to Malmo Mom at the hospital. I need to get back there soon.
