I'm disappointed in the ice condition posts by the resorts.  A lot of folks depend on these reports. It would seem that the resort owners would rather receive 50-100 calls a day that taking 5 minutes to post the latest info for their resort. simple info such as acces status and Ice thickness.

yea I know......just fustrated!

Click on webcams, click on MN Lakecams. Scroll down and you will see 6. I think most of them do a pretty good job.

The ice conditions are improving very well with each day of below freezing temps. 13-15 in most places. Roads should be opening to regular traffic in a few days if the cold temps keep making more ice. Exact opposite of last year, snow-wise. Better have the lakeboys bank your house, cuz snow is at a premium to bank the hardhouses right now.

This is what Hunter's point has to say:

Thanks for the info, and as usual, fishnpole and bobber are on top of things!

Any idea when full-sized vehicles will be allowed out of Hunters?

Just a quick post to update those who haven't been on the lake for awhile.

Ice thickness is 30" on the average. Snow cover is minimal this year, which is a welcome change from last year. Getting around out on the ice is pretty easy for wheelhouses, right now. Roads are in great shape.

Cracks and heaves are also minimal, with the exception of "The Great Wall of Mille Lacs" that stretches from Carlsona Beach to Garrison on the north and west side. Most resorts on these sides have cut and bridged this enormous pressure ridge.

As always, though, check in with resorts for the latest ice condition of their roads.
