Water temperature 45 degrees on the lake, means the walleyes are in shallow spawning. If you catch a fish in shallow, chances are it still hasn't spawned out, yet. When walleyes are in 2-8 feet of water, they generally aren't thinking about eating. They've got love on their pea-sized brains. If you catch any fish that ARE'NT spawned out, yet, if you need to release, make sure you get it back in the water IMMEDIATELY, folks.

I've been marking alot of fish in the 15-20 depths that are in recuperating formations. Once they've done their thing and had a chance to get a good breath, just like us, they get hungry. These fish are the ones you want to get in your crosshairs.

They will be biting in places like Doe island, Lakeside Reef, Hennipen Island, Myr Mar Reef, Agate Reef, The Northern Breaks, Carlsona Humps and Wilderness Rockpile to name a few.

Good Luck to everyone and have a safe and responsible opener.

Thanks Fishnpole, That is an excellent update.

The Malmo Bay Bomber will be out on Fishers rock pile and Malmo Bay today! The rumors of MM missing are slightly exagerated. HA!. Hope to see you soon.
