Isle and Wahkon. Have people been going out? How is the ice?

This is from Chapman's FB page from November 30th. I am sure with all the snow the conditions have changed. Check with resorts and dont go alone.

Tim staked the road on ATV today out about 2 miles and found nothing less than 7" of ice. Keep in mind, this is only in the areas he checked, you must check for yourself. BE SMART BE SAFE!

Changing pressure and 35 mph winds will be cracking off the ice in all the usual places and we'll be opening up again. With the shifting ice, I'd think it's a little premature to be staking roads for most resorts. The lake's got a LONG way to go before we get locked in.

This was BEFORE we got 14" of snow................

Even with the poor quality on the satelite picture there, I counted 6 major cracks going around the lake. It'll be interesting to see what happens with the current conditions when we get 30 mph gusting on Monday and Tuesday.

Yeah, sorry about the quality. I was really hoping this cold weather would close the cracks up. Even with the snow the cold should have gotten to the cracks if they were slushed up.

Probably if there was a little thicker ice than 2"-3" under all that slush and snow, but we always have the "puck" bounce around out there for a little while before it finally locks in.

Remember 2011? The year the ice that wouldn't lock in.................
