I was looking @ the presidents, but saw that Gander, this week, has their $40.00 GS reels on sale for $19.99.

Has anyone had any luck or bad reviews with these?  THey only have 6 bb's, but is that a big deal for the price?  If I could pick two of these up @ that price, it would leave me $$ for other gear or the Formica Flats!

I had GS ice fishing reels and broke them both in the first year.  They weren't the cheap ones either.  Their summer reels could be made by a different manufacturer.  Most of my spinning reels are Shimanos.  I think the Sienna or Sahara is right around that price range.

I have used Shimano reels quite a bit and still do, however; I have 2 setups I use with GS reels from gander and they have worked great for me.

I have used the top and mid-range Shimano reels for years and they are hard to beat in my opinion. The work, they last and they have excellent ball bearing quality.

In fly fishing and Salmon fishing, I run with Sage and Ross and Orvis...but that is western river fishing primarily.

So much FUN. smilebiggrinwink

Getting a good reel at the right price is pretty easy, nowdays. I am impressed with the new Phluger line. They're giving Shimano some competition, which is good for us!

Shimano Sienna is the best reel out there for under $30.00

I'm a shopper... If I find a good deal on a reel I'll but it..even if I don't need it yet, I buy it.. (Pflugar Supreme XT @ $60 ea)

Other brands like Shimano do the same thing... Keep an eye out for higher end products !!

Well, just went to Gander.  They only had one President left in the size I was looking, but it was on sale for $49.99.  So I grabeed that and one of their GS reels.  Will do a little experiment and see what I think.

Thanks for the input.  Couldn't find the Sienna by itself, only in combos.
